I had an incredible dining experience at Eventide restaurant – it deserves a solid 5 stars! The food was not just amazing; it was downright special. The lobster roll was an absolute highlight; it was out of this world, bursting with fresh and succulent lobster meat. And the clam chowder? Fantastic! The flavors were spot on.
If I had to give a constructive comment, it would be to maybe go a bit lighter on the potatoes in the clam chowder. But honestly, that's a minor detail in an otherwise outstanding meal. Eventide restaurant truly delivers on quality and flavor, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional seafood.
I had the chance to try their butter lobster, French fries, and fried chicken. The butter lobster was a highlight, with a portion size that was comparable to typical lobster servings at other restaurants. It was both tasty and buttery, offering a satisfying seafood experience. The French fries were crispy, a delightful crunch in each bite. The fried chicken also impressed, with a perfect combination of crispy exterior and juicy interior. I would recommend all of these dishes. For dessert, I tried their puffy chocolate cake. It was surprisingly light yet still packed with delicious flavor. Overall enjoyable dining experience, with each dish meeting or exceeding expectations
One of my favorite lobster roll places in Boston.
I first fell in love with the lobster rolls from Eventide when I first tried them at their original Portland location. During my recent visit, I decided to explore beyond their renowned lobster rolls, opting for the Chilled Arctic Char as a starter. The dish, featuring plum, fried chickpeas, and pesto, was intriguing and flavorful, but slightly steep in price considering the portion size.
However, any reservations I had about value were immediately quashed upon tasting their iconic lobster rolls again. Both the Cold Lobster Roll and the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll were impeccable. The decision to use a griddled bun for the cold lobster roll and a regular roll for the warm brown butter variant displayed a keen understanding of texture and how it complements flavor. The Brown Butter Lobster Roll was particularly outstanding, its salty, buttery goodness amplifying the natural flavors of the lobster to new heights. While the Fried Oyster Roll—complete with tartare, tomato, and mixed pickles—was delicious, it was admittedly overshadowed by the sheer excellence of the lobster rolls.
Just know that the rolls here are tasting-menu sized, so one or two might not suffice for a full meal. However, that only gives you the perfect excuse to indulge in multiple options. If you're in the mood for a gourmet, one-of-a-kind lobster roll experience, Eventide Fenway is a must-try spot.
Food was great, staff was friendly.
-Brown butter roll: portion was very small (two bite size) considering the price $19. It had a buttery and fresh lobster on top of the soft and chewy bun
-Oysters: fresh and a lot of options which I appreciated as the staff from the bar kindly explained all the selections we can choose
Only reason I took one star off was because they downturned giving us a bar seat next to window when there were tons of spaces. There were couple of seats in the center of the restaurant but they kept telling us it was all reserved. Until we left, which took like a hour for us to have food, there were still plenty of seats available in the bar and tables :/
Well, I still appreciate the great food and kind service received from the staff who took care of our bar seats.
My favorite restaurant! The brown butter lobster on the grilled bao bun is the best. I also enjoyed their cold lobster roll but the star is the brown butter one. The tuna was also really fresh and yummy! The brown butter soft serve was another superstar. I would not bother at all with the Whoopie Pie. It was basically cream in the middle so not enough sugar and the chocolate buns were dry. I wish the seating was a bit more inviting (cold wood/hard) as the rest of decor is very pretty.
Parking isn’t easy even when a game isn’t playing but you can pay to park in the garage in the building. AVOID going though during a Red Sox game. It’s just too busy and too hard to get to!
But the delicious food more than makes up for any faults. A definite go-to place.
Clam chowder was a big disappointment. It was so thin and smell so fishy that we couldn’t eat it. We called the server and asked whether it’s normal. They told us it was normal. We said we couldn’t eat it so they offered whether to get a new bowl or something else and they recommended lobster stew without telling us that it would be $5 more than the chowder’s price. So we ended up having the food we didn’t want and paid more. It would be nicer to tell us that the new food they offered would cost more than our original order that we couldn’t eat. The lobster bisque wasn’t impressive either, we couldn’t even finish a $21 soup.
Food is good (especially the lobster roll), but the portions are soooo small! The clam chowder was also too liquidy for my liking. The waitress also seemed to be ushering us out as fast as possible, even though there was plenty of space available.
Visiting Boston and recommended by a local friend. Really impressed by their lobster roll 🦞 very unique and delicious brown butter flavor (reminded me of condensed milk, caramel) and tender lobster meat. Adding a salad made a great meal for one - the nori flavor distinguished it from average salads. Hope will be back some time!
